University of Pennsylvania students and Philadelphia-area diners are going to be enjoying expanded dining options now that the new food hall, Franklin’s Table, is up and running.
Currently in its soft opening phase, Franklin’s Table at 3401 Walnut Street offers up a wide variety of cuisine choices for hungry UPenn students and visitors to grab on-the-go or sit at one of the communal tables and enjoy onsite. The 10,000-sq.-ft. space setting offers 170 seats, and the dining options feature many local names that help to substantially up Penn’s food-culture cred:
- Goldie: A vegan falafel shop by CookNSolo Restaurant Partners.
- Pitruco Pizza: Stationary spot featuring pizza offerings of the mobile wood-fired pizza food truck.
- DK Sushi: A side project of Double Knot, Michael Schulson and Nina Tinari Schulson’s new spot will be serving up rolls, sushi and sashimi.
- High Street Provisions: Offering coffee, pastries, sandwiches and other breakfast and lunch options, presented by the great minds behind High Street on Market, Fork and a.kitchen.
- KQ Burger: Presented by the stellar Kensington Quarters team, KQ Burger will offer three varieties of burgers, a chicken sandwich, cheesesteak, vegan mushroom sandwich and fries.
- Little Baby’s Ice Cream: Handmade, small-batch ice cream treats.
- The Juice Merchant Juicery and Café: 100% organic, vegan fresh-pressed juices and smoothies.
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m.–8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m.–7 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m.–5 p.m. The two vendors who open at 7 a.m. are High Street Provisions and the Juice Merchant; the other spots open for lunch and dinner service.
